Hi, 

My name is Joy. I am currently working as a part-time Veterinary Nurse in one of Oslo's biggest animal hospitals. I have worked at this hospital since 2022 full-time but started remote studies recently which led to me to a reduced working percentage (which means I can also dedicate more time to pet-sitting) 😌

I moved to Norway 4 years ago, after living in Iceland for 3 years where I was working in a cat shelter and as a vet assistant. I have a (French) degree in animal caretaking, behaviourism and dog-training, therefore I have very strong knowledge in order to care properly for your pets. I can administrate medication (both oral and injected) and I am trained for first-aid and CPR. 

I have been passionate about animals from a very young age and have lived with almost all kind of them (rats, cats, dogs, horses, goats, chickens, turtles...). My childhood dream was to become a veterinarian but I am unfortunately terrible at math so I had to give up on that dream very quickly. 😂 However, I still decided to work in the animal field as it fills my heart with happiness. Therefore, I have studied animal nursing as well as working as a cat behaviourist on the side. In the cat shelter I worked at, not only I have taken part in rescuing cats but I have also tamed a lot of feral cats thanks to my knowledge in cat behaviourism. Thanks to this lion-taming skill 🦁, I have prevented a lot of euthanasias from happening as I have a 100% success rate: all feral cats found a home and became happy lap cats. 

Moreover, I am also volunteering as a foster home with Norwegian cat rescuing associations like Ti Liv and Hjertekatter in order to keep my socialising skills up to date. I have so far fostered 5 feral cats with them, and they all got adopted by loving families after being under my care for some months ❤️

I'd like to add that considering my experience at the shelter, you would believe I am a cat person, but even though I love them very deeply, my love for dogs is as strong. My dream one day would be to become a dog mama, but one of my forever cats unfortunately does not share the same love as I do for them. I have a lot of experience as a dog sitter and walker when I lived in Franc. In addition, the majority of the patients I care for at the hospital are canine babies. I love the outdoors and walking so being able to share a walk with a dog is my definition of pure serenity 🧘‍♀️

Believe it or not, but I also have a lot of experience petsitting rats, guinea pigs and rabbits! 

P.S: I do not offer any pet sitting in my home as I have a very territorial cat, Yusef, who I do not want to put under any stress. However, I do offer housesitting. I am very responsible, tidy and reliable. I can provide references (from veterinarians I work with, the manager of the cat shelter I worked at and also dog, cat and exotic animals owners I have petsitted for).
